Simple Woman's Daybook

 FOR TODAY: May 23, 2011

Outside My Window...
it's a beautiful spring day--sunny, warm, and windy. My brother is playing baseball in the field with our neighbors.

I am thinking...
about the conference my family just attended.

I am thankful for...
wonderful teaching.

From the kitchen...
nothing at the moment; we warmed up leftovers for lunch.

I am wearing...
a flowered skirt and black t-shirt

I am creating...
a library list for tomorrow

I am going...
nowhere today...as far as I know, at least!

I am reading...
"Suncatchers" by Jamie Langston Turner

On my mind...
all the things I want to accomplish this afternoon

Around the house...
we got our new chicks ordered--yay! :) Everyone else is gone right now; I'm hoping the rest of this afternoon will be very productive.

One of my favorite things...
sunshine

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
Bible study and libraries, planting our garden, preparing for a camping trip over Memorial Day Weekend.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...
I can't wait for our new chicks to arrive! :D

Life...

I'm going through a pretty tough stage of my life right now; nothing too serious, just a lot of stretching and growing pains. I cannot imagine going through life without Jesus; He is my strength and my song!

I'm currently listening to a lot of Casting Crowns--I'm really not a big fan of their style-a bit too rocky for me-but their lyrics are amazing. So I'll leave you (whoever you are!) with the lyrics to one of my favorites:

ALWAYS ENOUGH by Casting Crowns

In a dry and weary land
Lord, You are the rain
In a sea of shattered ones
Your love comes rushing in

You hold the world within Your hands
And see each tear that falls
Through every fire, every storm
You're Always Enough,
Always Enough

Chorus
Your love is peace to the broken,
Faith for the widow,
Hope for the orphan,
Strength for the weak
Your love is the anthem of nations
Rings out through the ages
And You're always enough for me

In the watches of the night
Lord, You are my song
Hope is the morning light
Your love shines like the dawn.

You keep my heart
in perfect peace.
My life is in Your hands
When confusion hides my way,
You're always enough
Always enough

Chorus
Your love is peace to the broken,
Faith for the widow,
Hope for the orphan,
Strength for the weak
Your love is the anthem of nations
Rings out through the ages
And You're always enough

I rejoice
for my Savior reigns.
I rejoice, for He lives in me
God on high
He has set me free and
Worthy is the Lord!

Chorus
Your love is peace to the broken,
Faith for the widow,
Hope for the orphan,
Strength for the weak
Your love is the anthem of nations
Rings out through the ages
And You're always enough for me

Your love is peace to the broken,
Faith for the widow,
Hope for the orphan,
Strength for the weak
Your love is the anthem of nations
Rings out through the ages
And You're always enough...

I rejoice
for my Savior reigns.
I rejoice, for He lives in me
God on high
He has set me free and
Worthy is the Lord!

In a dry and weary land
Lord, You are the rain....

Whatever you're going through right now, I pray you'll come to realize that He truly is always enough!

For His glory,
Leah

More scattered thoughts.

I've always been an optimist deep-down; my life has always been full of joy, even when things get difficult.
But the older I become, the more I realize: I don't have anything together. I snap at my siblings; I waste precious time with pointless activities. I get overwhelmed by all this...stuff that fills my days--all the things that suck my time and energy, all these important things I have to get accomplished. I get frustrated and exhausted and continued failure robs me of my joy. I look around and I realize that sometimes I don't know where I'm going or what I'm really supposed to be doing, or why I'm doing what I'm doing.
And in the midst of this living, I get on my knees, counting gifts and I praise God because I don't have it all together and that's just right. Because the One I serve does have it all together--more than I can ever imagine. He has chosen me to carry out Hie plan and His purposes...and that knowledge is so amazing and so humbling. And so I continue to stumble through life, sometimes completely blind...just knowing that He has it all under control. When I mess up, He forgives me and sets me back on the path.
I am so grateful....

...

I had 10 million blog post ideas dancing around in my head.

...and then I got a blog. And suddenly I have nothing to say!
