'Christ Jesus Now Is Fallen' ...and life

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything original...and with 3 GNCs and a final exam this week plus everything else going on right now, that's a trend that will probably hold true for a couple more weeks.
So, in honor of Palm Sunday, here are the lyrics to one of the songs my choir sang in church this morning.

Christ Jesus Now is Fallen
Words by John Parker and Bernard of Clairvaux
Music by Lee Dengler

Christ Jesus now is fallen,
Though not from piercing sword,
Nor from a brutal spear
Or some vindictive word.
His blood He freely gave,
A ransom for us all.
Our sin, the single reason,
The Savior Christ did fall.

The heavens on that morning
Wept a bitter tear
As Jesus hung in silence,
Waiting for the spear.
The earth, confounded, cried out
Beneath the shrouded sky;
Her eyes with sadness filling
Now watching Jesus die.

Redeemer of the nations,
The Savior of the earth,
Fallen ere the ages,
And crucified from birth.
Never will creation revisit such a thing,
As this one selfless loving deed;
The death of Heaven's king!

O sacred Head, now wounded
With grief and shame weighed down,
Now scornfully surrounded
With thorns, Thine only crown.
O sacred Head, what glory,
What bliss till now was Thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call Thee mine!
